Job summary

GET Staff seeks an experienced Suppression Fitter/Sprinkler Fitter to join a busy team covering London and the South East. You will install and commission fixed fire suppression systems on diverse environments, with a focus on gas-based solutions and high quality workmanship.

Reporting to a Project Manager, you’ll read drawings, install pipework, test systems and document activity. Travel to multiple sites is required; CSCS is preferred and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience as a pipe fitter/sprinkler fitter.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans.
• Experience installing pipework and mechanical systems.
• Good communication and professionalism on client sites.

Responsibilities

• Install gaseous fire suppression systems per drawings and specs.
• Carry out pipework installation, cylinder positioning and nozzle installation.
• Read technical drawings and installation plans.
• Conduct system pressure testing and support commissioning activities.
• Complete installation documentation and QA records.
• Coordinate with clients, site managers and project teams.
• Maintain high health and safety, workmanship and professionalism.
• Travel to sites across London and the South East.

Suppression Fitter / Sprinkler Fitter Overview:

Suppression Fitter / Sprinkler Fitter Role & Responsibilities:

Reporting to a Project Manager, you will be responsible as a fitter for the mechanical installation and commissioning of fixed fire suppression systems.

• Installing gaseous fire suppression systems in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications and relevant industry standards.
• Carrying out pipework installation, cylinder positioning, nozzle installation and general system assembly.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics and installation plans.
• Undertaking system pressure testing and supporting commissioning activities.
• Completing installation documentation, site reports and quality assurance records.
• Working closely with clients, site managers, subcontractors and project teams.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety, workmanship and professionalism.
• Travelling to sites throughout London and the South East.

Suppression Fitter / Sprinkler Fitter Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven, hands on experience as a pipe fitter/ sprinkler fitter.
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans.
• Experience installing pipework and mechanical systems.
• Good communication skills and work professionally whilst working on client sites.
• A practical, hands-on approach with a strong focus on quality and safety.
• A valid CSCS card or happy to obtain one.
• Gas suppression experience is advantageous.
• DBS check may be required for some sites.
