Job summary

Magenta International seeks an experienced Fire Suppression & Sprinkler Engineer to service, maintain, test and repair fire sprinkler and suppression systems across a portfolio of residential developments in East and Southwest London. The role involves diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with British Standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), routine servicing, and inspections of fire sprinkler and suppression systems across multiple residential sites.
• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair sprinkler heads, control valves, pumps, flow switches, pipework, and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify system faults, leaks, pressure issues, and equipment failures, ensuring swift and safe resolution.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and emergency call-outs, including damaged sprinkler heads, water leaks, and system failures.
• Perform routine operational testing of sprinkler pumps, control valves, alarm interfaces, and water supply systems.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant British Standards, fire safety legislation, manufacturer recommendations, and company procedures.
• Identify defects, system deficiencies, and compliance concerns, recommending appropriate remedial actions and upgrades.
• Carry out repairs and component replacements while minimising disruption to residents and site operations.
• Maintain accurate records, including service reports, inspection documentation, fault logs, and compliance certificates.
• Build and maintain professional working relationships with residents, Facilities Managers, property management teams, and subcontractors.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures and promote best practice across all sites.

Overview

My client is seeking an experienced Fire Suppression & Sprinkler Engineer to carry out the servicing, maintenance, testing, fault diagnosis, and repair of fire sprinkler and suppression systems across a portfolio of residential developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all systems remain fully operational, compliant, and effective in protecting residents and property.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Fire Sprinkler Engineer, Fire Suppression Engineer, Fire Protection Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong background in the maintenance, servicing, testing, and repair of sprinkler and fire suppression systems.
• Sound understanding of sprinkler system components, including pumps, valves, sprinkler heads, pipework, flow switches, and water supplies.
• Proven fault-finding and diagnostic abilities, with the capability to identify and rectify mechanical and system-related issues efficiently.
• Experience delivering both planned maintenance and reactive works, including emergency call-out support.
• Ability to produce clear and accurate service reports, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with experience working in occupied residential environments.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads across multiple sites and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship, health & safety, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Fire Sprinkler Installation, Maintenance, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related discipline.
• BAFSA-approved training or equivalent industry-recognised sprinkler system certification.
• Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
• CSCS card or relevant site safety certification advantageous.
