Job summary

Support for Ordinary Living (SOL) seeks an experienced manager to lead day-to-day operations of Supported Living services in Wishaw, with travel within North Lanarkshire. You will promote independence, champion person-centred care, and drive high-quality outcomes for people with learning or physical disabilities.

You will oversee team leadership, staff development, and performance management while aligning services with SOL's values and national standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Supported Living teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred support in line with SOL's values and the National Health and Social Care Standards.
  • Promote independence, inclusion, positive risk-taking, and meaningful community connections for the people we support.
  • Chair team meetings and work with staff to develop, review, and monitor outcome-focused support plans, ensuring services remain responsive to individual needs, wishes, aspirations, and agreed actions are implemented effectively.
  • Build and maintain positive multi-agency partnerships with individuals, families, colleagues, social work, health services, and other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Provide effective supervision, coaching, and performance management to support staff development, accountability, and high performance, including the implementation of Performance Improvement Plans where required.
  • Oversee workforce planning, rota management, and the effective use of resources to ensure safe and consistent service delivery.
  • Support the recruitment and induction of new staff in partnership with the People Team, ensuring a positive onboarding experience and successful integration into the service.
  • Support a positive workplace culture through proactive conflict management, problem-solving, and effective communication.
  • Support the development of new services and promote the use of technology-enabled care to enhance independence.
  • Maintain awareness of developments within social care and Self-Directed Support, ensuring best practice is embedded within services.
  • Participate in the On-Call Manager rota and undertake any other reasonable duties associated with the role.

SALARY: £32,500


HOURS: 37 hours per week, plus additional on-call responsibilities.


TERM: Permanent


ANNUAL LEAVE: 30 Days


LOCATION: Wishaw Base with travel within North Lanarkshire


General Description

Working as part of a team of managers, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Supported Living services. Working alongside people with learning and/or physical disabilities, you will ensure individuals receive high-quality care and support that reflects their wishes, aspirations, and personal outcomes.


You will be committed to promoting independence, choice, inclusion, and positive outcomes, ensuring that all support is delivered in line with SOL's values and the National Health and Social Care Standards.


This role has a strong focus on leadership, staff development, and performance management. You will support, coach, and motivate team members to deliver outstanding person-centred support while fostering a positive and engaged team culture.
