Job summary

Discovery is seeking caring Waking Night Support Workers to assist people during the night in Taunton. You will help create a safe, calm environment, following risk assessments and support plans, while carrying out key tasks.

Roles involve keeping safe checks, maintaining hygiene, and recording information using IT systems to ensure high-quality care. You will support wellbeing and personal care, with dignity and respect, across 1–3 nights per week.

About the role?

Discovery is looking for caring Waking Night Support Workers in Taunton to support people throughout the night, ensuring the appropriate support is given in line the risk assessment and support plan whist also carrying out a number of key allocated tasks.

Every night, you’ll help create a safe, calm, and comforting environment for the people we support.
Your role will include:

• Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
• Recording important information using our easy-to-use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.
• Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
• Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
• Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.

Support worker role
1-3 waking nights per week
Pay - £15.54 per hour
Location - Taunton

• An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Dimensions.
