Job description

Job Title: Support Worker - Supported Living Services

Location: Preston, Lancashire

Salary: £30,209 - £30,459 per annum (inclusive of 2 sleeps ins paid at £64)

Shift pattern: 09:00-17:00 (early shifts), 17:00 - 23:00 (late shift), 23:00-09:00 (sleep shift)
2 Sleep ins required per week*

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced support worker to join a fantastic supported living service for adults with mild forms of mental health issues and learning disabilities. You will enrich people's lives through activities like fun days out, football, music, and more. You will work for an organization established for over 30 years that empowers individuals to live fulfilling lives in their communities.

Your key responsibilities as Support Worker:
  • Support the team leader to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered.
  • Complete risk assessments and keep records up to date.
  • Provide physical support, including household tasks and personal care.
  • Offer emotional support to individuals and their families.
  • Assist with healthcare needs, such as routine checks or medication administration.
  • Teach life skills like shopping, using public transport, and paying bills.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, dynamic, and able to use their experience and understanding of supporting adults with additional needs to thrive. You should be able to work independently and on your own initiative.

Essential requirements for the role:
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and additional needs; experience in mental health or youth work is desirable but not essential.
  • A Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and alternate weekends is essential.
