Job Title: Support Worker – Supported Living Services

Location: Accrington, Lancashire

Salary: 30209-30459 (Inclusive of 2 sleep ins)

Shift pattern: 09:00-17:00 (early shifts), 17:00-23:00 (late shift), 23:00-09:00 (sleep shift)

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced support worker to join a fantastic supported living service for adults with mild mental health issues and learning disabilities. You will enrich people’s lives with activities such as fun days out, football, music, and more. You will be working for an organization established for over 30 years that empowers and enables people across communities to live fulfilling lives.

Your key responsibilities as Support Worker:

As a Support Worker, you will assist the team leader in ensuring the highest quality of care. You will regularly complete risk assessments and keep records up to date. Your duties may include providing physical support, helping with household tasks and personal care, offering emotional support to individuals and their families, and supporting healthcare needs, including routine checks or medication administration. Additionally, you will teach life skills such as shopping, using public transport, and paying bills.

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable and dynamic, using their experience and understanding of supporting adults with additional needs to thrive. You should be able to work on your own initiative.

Essential requirements for the role:

  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and additional needs. Experience in mental health or youth work is desirable but not essential.
  • A Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and alternate weekends is essential.
