Job summary

Radis Community Care in Baildon, Shipley, Bradford is seeking Support Workers for a new Supported Living Service supporting 9 young adults with learning disabilities. You will help them live more independently, participate in community activities, and pursue meaningful daily routines.

Ideally you will have a health and social care qualification, or proven experience in supported living or with learning disabilities.

Qualifications

• Health and social care qualification preferred but not essential.
• Experience in supported living or with individuals with Learning Disabilities is a plus.
• Ability to support daily living skills and community engagement.

Job description

Radis Community Care has an opportunity for Support Workers for our new Supported Living Service, in Baildon Shipley, Bradford.

About the role

Our Supported Living Service in Shipley is home to 9 young adults with Learning Disabilities and other presenting needs. We support people to live independently and take part in community-based activities such as swimming, going to the cinema and the theatre and to engage in meaningful employment (voluntary or paid). The people we support have a good sense of humour and would benefit from staff with upbeat/chatty personalities.

The role may include manual handling, medication administration, personal care, food preparation, household tasks, supporting individuals to stay connected with family and friends, accessing the community, and attending appointments. We provide support for daily living skills and help support with socialisation.

We recognise each person as an individual and provide a unique service which is person centred and tailored to their needs. The role is to promote the individual's independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of support.

Ideally the successful person would have a qualification in health and social care (but this is not essential) or will have worked either in supported living settings and / or with individuals with Learning Disabilities.
