Job summary

Protea Care Homes (Kent) Ltd in the UK is seeking a dedicated full-time care assistant to support adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs in our home. You will help with daily living, personal care, and promoting independence in a safe environment.

You will work as part of a team, maintain accurate records, accompany residents to appointments, and encourage participation in community and social activities while upholding dignity and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, reliable and professional in approach.
• Committed to person-centred care and promoting independence.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in learning disabilities/mental health.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting individuals with daily living and maintaining their home
• Encouraging independence, choice, and decision-making
• Assisting with personal care where required which may include toileting and bathing.
• Supporting access to community, social, and leisure activities
• Assisting with health needs, including medication and appointments
• Keeping accurate records and working collaboratively with others
• Promoting wellbeing, safety, and dignity at all times
• Support people with their finances, where necessary, and in line with the company policy.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
