Job summary

Together for Mental Wellbeing in Hounslow is seeking a dedicated support worker to join our 24-hours mental wellbeing accommodation-based supported living service for adults 18-65 with diagnosed mental illness and/or primary mental health needs.

This full-time permanent role focuses on helping individuals maintain mental health, prevent tenancy breakdown, and collaborate with mental health professionals to promote independence while ensuring a safe, empathetic environment across a 24/7 shift

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting vulnerable individuals from paid or voluntary work or life experience
• GCSE or Level II qualification in English, or equivalent
• Basic competence with email and word processing software
• Non-judgemental attitude with empathetic service user support
• Ability to establish professional boundaries and work safely with service users
• Willing to undertake domestic tasks for service users as needed
• Problem-solving skills related to welfare benefits, education and relationships
• Open to formal and informal job-related learning
• Willing and able to collaborate with colleagues and other organisations
• Able to use email and computerised systems for service user records
• Capable of travelling or using public transport
• Willing to work a varied 24/7 rota with notice

Basic Salary £23892.96 plus Geographical Allowance £1940.0

Key Responsibilities

• Support individuals to maintain good mental health and maximise recovery outcomes to maintain independent lives, through culturally appropriate person-led service provision


• Support individuals to prevent tenancy breakdown and loss of accommodation and to be integrated members of their communities.


• Partnership working with relevant agencies, in particular mental health professionals.


• Provide an environment where all individuals within the nine (9) protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010, feel safe, secure, and protected from avoidable harm.


• Promoting independence and enabling people to live as independently as possible.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

• Experience in supporting vulnerable individuals gained from paid work and/or voluntary and/or life experience
