Job summary

Active Care Group is recruiting a support worker for Norton Court House in Stockton-on-Tees. You will support children and young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, focusing on social and life skills development.

Role includes building relationships, assisting with daily living, and contributing to individual care plans. You will work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and join a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 months experience in child care.
• Must have lived in the UK for 2 years 9 months or more.
• Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.

We offer intensive levels of support and care to help the young people we care for develop social and life skills.You will have an opportunity to learn whilst you work with Active Care Group. After probation you will be working towards **Level 3 Diploma** in Residential child care.**What you'll be working:*** £27609.72 (FTE) Per annum (Pro rata)* Days and Nights* Every other weekend* Rota shifts* Working towards **Level 3 Diploma** in Residential child care**What you'll be doing:*** Build relationships with children and young people* Establish methods of communication with children and young people, reducing barriers when necessary* Assist children and young people with mealtimes where necessary* Support with activities of daily living and personal care when needed* Communicate any issues to the on shift team leader or management* Accurately report and/or record work activities* Working towards a Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or Children’s Workforce (or equivalent) - or be willing to work towards this.**What you'll have:*** A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible for our young people* Should have lived in the UK for 2 years and 9 months* The ability to communicate effectively at all levels* Minimum experience of 9 months in the child care* Experience working within the Child care sector / Autism/ LDWe also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions.
