Support Worker - Part Time

Department: Support Roles

Employment Type: Permanent - Part Time

Location: Berkhamsted

Reporting To: Lead Support Worker

Compensation: £12.81 / hour

Description

Do you feel strongly about making a genuine difference in peoples lives? Helping others to grow and achieve their goals? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

When you join us, you’ll become part of an organisation which is CQC rated 'Outstanding'. Our team has won numerous national and local awards for leading the way in person-centred support.

This is a part time position for 15 or 22.5 hours per week.

About us

With us, you'll never be just a number; you'll be part of a close-knit team that genuinely cares about the people we support, and each other. Since 2008, Partners in Support has provided supported living services across Hertfordshire. We're proud to be a local, values-led organisation that puts people before growth. We believe in dignity, respect, compassion, and partnership, supporting people to live the lives they choose in their own homes and communities.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you'll provide emotional and practical support to adults with learning disabilities and autism, helping them to live life their way.

You'll support people to build confidence, develop independence, learn new skills, access their community by taking part in activities, and do the things that matter most to them. No two days are the same, so if you enjoy variety and want a rewarding role where you can make a real difference, this could be the perfect opportunity.

We're committed to supporting our colleagues through regular check-ins, supervision, training, and ongoing communication, so you'll feel supported both personally and professionally.

No previous social care experience is required, as full training will be provided.

The shift patterns are (approximately, subject to change): 7.15am to 2.45pm, 2.45 to 10pm, 10pm to 7.15am. We need you to be as flexible as possible to cover these shifts within a small team, all dedicated to one person. If you are employed full-time, you will work 5 shifts over 7 days.

What we're looking for
  • Commitment to empowering people
  • Kind, respectful, and patient approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confidence to remain calm in difficult situations
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins on a rota
  • Full UK manual driving licence preferred
What we offer
  • From £12.81 per hour, plus £75 per sleep-in
  • Guaranteed hours on a permanent contract
  • Paid birthday leave and long service awards
  • Blue Light Card, Costco membership, and paid DBS
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Ongoing training, upskilling and progression opportunities
