Job summary

Newhouse, Priory in Scotland, is seeking a Support Worker to join our team for night shifts. The role supports 22 adults with a primary learning disability, who may also have mental health needs or autism.

The position involves 42 hours over a pattern of 4 night shifts one week and 3 the next. Newhouse is located in the semi-rural village of Hurlford, near Kilmarnock, with services for physical health needs, communication challenges, and potential behaviours.

Qualifications

  • Experience in care or support work is desirable but training is provided.
  • Able to commit to night shifts.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to upholding professional standards and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks.
  • Encourage participation in activities and community life.
  • Support residents in achieving personal outcomes and track progress.
  • Maintain accurate records, care plans, charts, and daily notes.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Uphold safety, security and confidentiality per policies.
  • Act as a key worker helping residents set goals and monitor progress.
  • Promote choice, independence and involvement at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas and suggestions.

Newhouse £13.45 per hour Full Time – 42 hours

Newhouse has an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team.

This role is for night shifts with 4 shifts for one week, and 3 shifts for the next.

Newhouse is located in the semi-rural village of Hurlford, near Kilmarnock, Scotland. Our home offers residential support for 22 adults with a primary learning disability diagnosis, who may also have mental health needs or be on the autism spectrum.

We can also support those who have:

  • Physical health needs
  • Difficulties with communication
  • Mild to moderate behaviours that may challenge
  • Epilepsy
What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents
