Job summary

Minstead Trust in the New Forest area is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to engage directly with those we support, promoting independence and helping them live happy, healthy lives.

You will assist with health, wellbeing and daily tasks, maintain accurate records, work as part of a team or on your own in the community, and build trusting relationships with individuals while upholding dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience of providing high levels of care to neuro disabled people in a social care setting.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to meet their goals in health, wellbeing and independence.
• Assist with personal, social and healthcare needs and keep accurate records.
• Work as part of a team or solo within the community as needed.
• Act as keyworker for allocated individuals and promote dignity and respect.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week: Flexible shifts over a 24/7 week, 365 days a year (Incl. alternate weekends and bank holidays, and sleep in shifts on a rota basis)

Location: New Forest
Salary: £12.75 per hour - increasing to £13.75 after probation

About the role:

As a Support Worker, you'll be engaging directly with those we support, inspiring fun and creativity whilst encouraging independence and allowing individuals to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.

What you’ll do

• Support individuals to meet their goals and outcomes in health, wellbeing, and independence
• Assist individuals with their personal, social, and healthcare needs as required whilst maintaining accurate records
• Work as part of a team as well as lone working within the community as needed
• Work with allocated individuals as their keyworker
• Interact and communicate with the people you support in a way that promotes dignity and respect
• Support individuals with everyday tasks as required.

What are we looking for

• Motivated, honest, and approachable individuals who are great at building and nurturing relationships
• Experience of providing high levels of care and support to neuro disabled people in a social care setting
• Aspirations to develop skills at support worker level and beyond
• Flexibility to work shifts 365 days a year including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis
• Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care is desirable but training will be provided
• A full UK driving licence with access to a motorised vehicle is essential.
