Job summary

Harmony Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to assist a service user in Guildford and surrounding areas. You will provide 2:1 support to enable living safely and with dignity in the home, with shifts including day and night hours.

Role involves clinical tasks, meal planning, monitoring health indicators, and coordinating with the clinical team. Training is provided; strong empathy and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience looking after service users with eating disorders.
  • Meal planning with gradually increasing feed to achieve weight restoration.
  • Regular blood tests to monitor for refeeding risk.
  • ECG and physical observations (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) to monitor physical state.
  • Medication titration – recently increased Aripiprazole (antipsychotic).
  • Bedrest and support with hygiene and personal care.
  • Full specialist training and competency sign-off provided by Clinical Team.

Job description

£15.20 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to support a lovely service user in the Guildford and surrounding area. Your care will enable them to live safely, confidently and with dignity in their own home.

This is a meaningful 2:1 role where you can genuinely see the impact of the support you provide.

About the Client

Supporting a 26-year-old female, well known to the eating disorder service with a primary diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa with dangerously low body, weight, restricting pattern. Service user also has a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Supporting information about the client

Not aggressive, eitherphysically or verbally

Elected to remain mute

Communisation by laptop

No more than 30 minutes’ walk a day

Loves baking for the community

Very Creative.

Clinical Requirements

You will support the client with the specific clinical tasks outlined in their care plan. These may include:

  • Must have experience looking after service users with eating disorders
  • Meal planning with gradually increasing feed to achieve weight restoration.
  • Regular blood tests to monitor for refeeding risk.
  • ECG and physical observations (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) to monitor physical state.
  • Medication titration - recently increased Aripiprazole (antipsychotic).
  • Bedrest and support with hygiene and personal care.
  • Management and dietetic support of invasive feed.

Full specialist training and competency sign-off are provided by our Clinical Team, so you do not need to have every skill listed to apply.

We offer consistent and predictable shifts to support your work–life balance and financial stability.

  • Weekend day shifts
  • Weekend night shifts
  • 12-hour shift or shorter calls
  • Driver requirements if applicable
  • Regular pattern (e.g., every Saturday and Sunday)
