Job summary

Transforming Support in South London is seeking an Independent Living Support Worker (Male Only - GOR) to help individuals maintain independence and develop essential life skills. This full-time role includes day and night shifts and requires a caring, patient approach.

You will provide person-centred support with daily living tasks, assist access to community services, build trusting relationships, and advocate for rights and dignity while keeping accurate records and staying safe.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or support work preferred.
• Ability to work with adults with learning disabilities or autism.
• Commitment to dignity, respect and person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support in daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, and finances.
• Help individuals access community services, activities, and employment opportunities.
• Build trusting relationships with the people supported and their families.
• Support development of life skills and attainment of personal goals.
• Administer medication and keep accurate records in line with health and safety rules.

The Role

As an Independent Living Support Worker, you'll play a key role in helping individuals maintain independence, develop life skills, and build meaningful connections within their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide person-centred support in daily living activities, such as cooking, cleaning, and managing finances
• Assist individuals in accessing community services, activities, and employment opportunities
• Build positive, trusting relationships with the people you support and their families
• Support individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals
• Administer medication and maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Advocate for individuals' rights, promoting choice, dignity, and respect
• Respond to emergencies or challenging situations with professionalism and care
