Job summary

Discovery is seeking a compassionate Support Worker in Cornwall/Somerset to help a 64-year-old man with learning disabilities and autism live life to the fullest. You’ll work at home and in the community on a 2:1 basis, delivering person-led support with empathy and fostering independence.

No prior social care experience is required, but you’ll need the right values, willingness to learn, and the confidence to support individuals to live the life they choose.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and adopt person-led approach.
• Experience with Positive Behaviour Support is valued but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support a 64-year-old man with learning disabilities and autism at home and in the community on a 2:1 basis.
• Engage in activities such as visits to local attractions and sports events.
• Provide person-centred support to promote independence and well-being.
• Record notes and training using digital systems and participate in ongoing training.
