Job summary

Discovery in Chard is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to help people live independent, confident lives within their local community. The role focuses on personal care, daily routines, and promoting wellbeing for four residents, including wheelchair and mobility support in the community.

No prior care experience is required—just the right values: kindness, patience, reliability, and a passion for helping others.

Qualifications

• You don't need previous experience in care, just the right values.
• You will be kind, patient, reliable, and passionate about helping others live fulfilling lives.
• You’ll be a great team player, willing to learn, and confident communicating with people we support, their families, and colleagues.
• Basic IT skills are required to use digital systems for training and recording support notes.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with personal care, daily routines, and maintaining good health and wellbeing.
• Support one person who uses a wheelchair in the community and another who uses a walking frame outdoors.
• Encourage independence by involving people in cooking, household tasks, and everyday decision-making.
