Job summary

NHS Highland is hiring a Support Worker to help deliver safe, person-centred home care. You will provide personal care, support independence, and work closely with health and social care teams to ensure wellbeing. Training is provided, with a clear path for progression and a generous leave entitlement.

The role offers a stable shift pattern (4 days on, 4 days off) with options for flexible working, and requires a full UK driving licence for travel between service users.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel expenses available).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals in their own homes.
• Assist with personal care, medication support, continence care, nutrition & hydration, skincare, and mobility.
• Support service users to maintain independence, dignity and wellbeing.
• Work closely with nurses, social workers and allied health professionals.
• Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
• Follow NHS Highland policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Be a strong team player who can support and guide others.
• Maintain good communication and problem-solving skills.
