Job summary

Mencap in Peterborough is looking for caring and enthusiastic Support Workers to help people with a learning disability live independently and achieve their personal goals.

You will support day-to-day living, encourage independence and build meaningful relationships, with duties ranging from household tasks to accompanying visits to cafes, arts groups and day centres. DBS checks apply and you must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient and positive attitude are essential.
• Ability to work with people with learning disabilities in a person-centred way.
• Full UK driving licence is essential due to community-based role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day living and household tasks (cooking, cleaning, laundry).
• Support individuals to engage in activities at home and in the community.
• Provide personal care, medication support and manual handling as needed.
