About the role

As a Waking Night Support Worker at Grove Court in Shepton Mallet, you'll provide dedicated overnight support to a wonderful lady in her 70s, helping her feel safe, comfortable and well-supported throughout the night in her own home.

This is a lone-working role where you'll play an important part in maintaining a calm and reassuring environment. During the night, you'll support with personal care needs, including assisting with bedtime and morning routines, monitoring wellbeing, and providing discreet support with continence care and toileting when required. You'll also help maintain her established routines, which are important in helping her feel secure and rested.

There may be quieter periods where you'll complete household tasks, ensure the home remains clean and welcoming, and update records. At other times, you'll provide reassurance if she wakes during the night, support her to settle, and respond to any needs that arise.

Building trust and understanding will be key in this role. She communicates in her own way, enjoys having clear boundaries and routines, and values support from someone patient, observant and caring. By providing consistent overnight support, you'll help ensure she wakes each morning feeling safe, comfortable and ready to enjoy the day ahead.
