We are seeking an experienced support worker to join our team at George Williams House, a self-contained accommodation unit for 15 households. The role is vital in helping vulnerable clients achieve positive outcomes. As a Support Worker, you will work closely with young people and families, developing and delivering high-quality support programs that promote clients’ choice and control. Many of our young people and families are referred due to experiencing homelessness.

Our goal is to support young people and families by providing stable accommodation and helping them develop their capacity, self-esteem, and life skills for independent living.

We are an Ofsted Registered Service, adhering to ‘The Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations,’ which set national standards and inspection arrangements for supported accommodation providers for looked after children and care leavers aged 16 and 17. These standards cover Support, Protection, Leadership & Management, and Accommodation.

The successful candidate(s) will demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of the benefits system and supported housing funding streams and reporting requirements
  • Commitment to supporting residents in line with Policies, Procedures, and Ofsted Regulations, aligned with the eight key principles of Supported Accommodation
  • Understanding of legislation related to Health & Safety and safeguarding
  • Knowledge of common support needs faced by homeless and vulnerable individuals, with the ability to risk assess and develop support plans with residents
  • A positive attitude and high motivation to support vulnerable residents in achieving positive life outcomes
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment, be solutions-focused, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks under pressure
  • Proficiency in IT packages, including Microsoft Office
