Are you passionate about supporting people to make positive changes in their lives? We are seeking an experienced Assistant Support Worker to join our team at George Williams House, an accommodation unit for 15 households. The role involves working closely with young people and families, developing and delivering activities that promote clients’ choice and control, planning daily activities, accessing resources, and creating monthly newsletters. You will also hold resident meetings and establish relationships with partner agencies, including taking residents out into the community.

Our aim is to support young people and families by providing stable accommodation and helping them develop skills for independent living. We are an Ofsted-registered service, adhering to national standards for supported accommodation for looked-after children and care leavers aged 16 and 17, focusing on Support, Protection, Leadership & Management, and Accommodation.

The successful candidate(s) will demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of the benefits system and supported housing funding streams.
  • Dedication to working within an Ofsted-registered and regulated service.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of support needs faced by homeless and vulnerable clients.
  • A positive attitude and motivation to support clients’ life outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, prioritize, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in IT packages, including Microsoft Office.
  • Creativity in implementing engaging activities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion and proactivity in taking clients out into the community.
