Job summary

Radis Community Care in St Neots is seeking a flexible Part Time Support Worker to join the Radis Team at Poppyfields. The role is 20 hours per week, with a mix of morning and late shifts and alternate weekends.

You will support elderly residents in an Extra Care Scheme, helping them maintain independence and dignity through moving safely, personal care, and participation in social activities, both individually and as a group. The position includes weekend cover and potential night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist elderly individuals with physical frailty, helping them move safely to dining areas and communal spaces, and back to their rooms as requested.
• Assist with personal care activities such as washing, hygiene and dressing.
• Participate in recreational and social activities with residents, individually and in groups.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity and respect while delivering high‑standard care.

Job description

Radis Community Care are looking for a flexible Part Time Support worker to join the Radis Team in Poppyfields, St Neots.

Poppyfields in St Neots has 34 one-bedroom properties with access to a wide variety of on-site facilities including a lounge, restaurant, hairdressers, hobbies room and a guest room for visiting friends and family.

This will be a mix of morning and late shifts, alternate weekends, 20hours per week, plus sickness and annual leave cover. Required to cover nights if needed.

About the role

As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme, your primary responsibility is to assist elderly individuals who are experiencing physical frailty, helping them maintain as much independence as possible. This includes supporting people we support with restricted mobility by aiding them in moving safely to dining areas for meals, communal spaces for social engagement, and back to the privacy of their own rooms when requested.

The role will require you to assist people we support with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by taking part in recreational and social activities with people, both individually and as a group.

The core aim of this role is to promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect, consistently delivering care to the highest standard.
