Job summary

Radis Community Care is seeking caring Support Workers for our Extra Care Scheme in England. You will assist elderly residents with personal care, mobility, meals, and social activities, while upholding dignity and independence. Training and career progression are provided.

Part-time shifts average 15-20 hours weekly on a rolling 4-week rota, with evenings and some weekends. Uniform and PPE are supplied along with mileage allowance and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or support roles preferred.
• Commitment to dignity and independence of residents.
• Willingness to complete relevant training and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support elderly residents in Extra Care Scheme with daily activities.
• Assist with personal care while maintaining privacy and dignity.
• Encourage participation in recreational and social activities.
• Assist with mobility and dining arrangements as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe living environments for residents.

About the role

As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme you will be supporting the elderly who are finding it difficult to cope due to physical frailty, enabling them to maintain their individuality and vital independence. You'll help residents with restricted mobility to move to dining areas at meal times, communal areas for social activities and to the privacy of their bedrooms and bathrooms at their request.

You'll help them with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing - this will mean you'll understand the importance of privacy and dignity - so important to everyone. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by being a part of the recreational and social activities with residents, and as a group.

And always with a kind smile and a supportive word, even when sometimes a day is challenging!

Part time - average of 15-20 hours per week over a 4 week rolling rota

Week 1 - Tue & Wed nights (10pm-8am) = 20hrs

Week 2 - Mon (4pm-10pm) Sat & Sun Days (3pm-10pm) = 20 hrs

Week 3 - Tue & Wed nights (10pm-8am) = 20hrs

Week 4 - Fri & Sat (4pm-10pm) Sun Days (8am-12pm) = 16hrs
