Job summary

Radis Community Care are seeking a Part Time Support Worker for Childwick House, Newmarket, an Extra Care Scheme offering 24 apartments for older people. You’ll work mornings, late and night shifts, alternate weekends, with 20 hours per week plus sickness and annual leave cover.

You will help residents maintain independence, assist with mobility and personal care, and encourage social engagement in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting elderly people or in social care is beneficial.
• Ability to assist with mobility and activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Support elderly residents with mobility to dining areas and social spaces.
• Assist with personal care activities such as washing, hygiene and dressing.
• Engage residents in individual and group activities to promote well-being.

Job description

Radis Community Care are looking for a Part Time Support Worker to join the team at Childwick House, Newmarket.

Childwick House has 24 one and two-bedroom apartments for older people wanting to retain an independent lifestyle, while having the reassurance of a familiar and dedicated care team on site.

This will be a mix of morning, late and night shifts, alternate weekends. 20hours per week, plus sickness and annual leave cover.

At this present time, we are unable to consider Sponsorship for this role.

About the role

As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme, your primary responsibility is to assist elderly individuals who are experiencing physical frailty, helping them maintain as much independence as possible. This includes supporting people we support with restricted mobility by aiding them in moving safely to dining areas for meals, communal spaces for social engagement, and back to the privacy of their own rooms when requested.

The role will require you to assist people we support with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by taking part in recreational and social activities with people, both individually and as a group.
