Job summary

The YOU Trust is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to enable and empower clients in the New Forest area. You will travel across Hampshire to provide person-centred support in home and community settings, helping people learn new skills and access activities.

A driver’s licence and car are essential, with shifts including evenings and weekends as needed. We offer competitive pay, enhanced leave, pension contributions and extensive training.

  • Provide community-based support to access volunteering, activities and social opportunities.
  • Assist with personal care, budgeting, housing support and daily living activities as required.

Support Worker - Enablement New Forest
Covering The New Forest

Salary: £26,768pa FTE (salary will be pro-rated for Part Time)

Mileage paid at 45p per mile up to 10,000 miles and paid at 25p per mile thereafter as per HMRC guidelines

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time and Part Time Hours can be considered

YOU is a registered charity that has been providing care, support and advice for over 30 years to vulnerable people, working across Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Wiltshire, Somerset and the Isle of Wight to give them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives. We also maintain an in-house pool of sessional workers, which we refer to as the ‘Premier Crew’.

Essential Criteria:

The ideal Support Partner will:

  • Car Driver with access to a vehicle for work, business insurance and be prepared to travel to work across Hampshire when required.
  • Able to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays according to the needs of those we work with.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people
  • Understand and promoting independence
  • Understand the needs of vulnerable people/people with a learning disability
  • Good communication skills: verbal, non verbal, and written
The Role

The role of the Support Partner is to provide excellent and flexible person centred support across Hampshire in line with YOU’s values at all times. The role is multi-faceted role and includes time limited enablement support to help someone learn a new skill in their own home or the community; community based support where small groups of people will be supported to access volunteering, occupational, social and leisure activities; homecare where individuals could be supported with personal care, housing support, budgeting, social and daily living activities and emotional support.
