How would you feel if you knew you could change someone's life?
At Affinity Trust, our Support Workers make a difference every day by helping people live their best lives, with confidence, independence, and choice.
One day, it could be a trip to the supermarket; the next, supporting someone to try a new hobby, spend time with friends, or achieve a goal they've been working towards. Your support helps people live more independently and enjoy life in the way that suits them best.
The people you'll be supporting enjoy activities such as knitting, socialising, enjoying a cup of tea, playing bingo, and going shopping. You'll provide the encouragement and support they need to continue doing the things they love, build meaningful relationships, and stay connected to their local community.
Ultimately, your support gives people the freedom to be themselves.
This role involves a combination of day shifts and waking nights, with a maximum of three waking night shifts per week.
During day shifts, you'll support people with their daily routines, personal goals, household tasks, and community activities, helping them build confidence and independence.
During waking nights, you'll provide a reassuring presence, helping people feel safe and supported in their home, and be available to offer support if needed throughout the night.
No previous experience is required. We provide complete training to give you the skills and confidence needed to support people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.
However, we know that what is essential is your kindness, energy, patience, and willingness to make someone's day brighter.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this role and will be paid for by us.
We're committed to being Disability Confident and guarantee an interview to applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
