Job summary

Sense Centre Smethwick is hiring a compassionate Support Worker to help people with complex disabilities live active lives. The role offers permanent contracts with up to 37.5 hours per week across variable shifts, with a pay rate of £13.00 per hour (£25,350 FTE).

Full training is provided, no prior experience required. The team supports clients in activities from arts and dance to swimming and climbing, in-service and community settings.

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We have exciting Support Worker opportunities at Sense Centre Smethwick, our Midlands Day Service; a warm, welcoming service where the people we support lead active, varied lives.

These are permanent roles, with contracts available for up to 37.5 hours per week on a variable shift pattern, which may include weekends, paying £13.00 per hour/£25,350 per annum FTE. Full training will be provided, so no previous experience is needed.

The people we support have active lifestyles and a wide range of interests - from arts, dance, and music making to swimming and rock climbing. You'll be supporting them to take part in the activities they love, both at the service and out in the community. A willingness to get stuck in and participate in activities is essential, as is the ability to complete manual handling tasks.

A full UK driving licence is desirable as the service uses a company vehicle for community trips and appointments. Knowledge of BSL is also an advantage.
