Job summary

Sense Centre Smethwick is seeking motivated Support Workers to help people with complex disabilities lead active, fulfilling lives. The role offers permanent contracts up to 37.5 hours per week with a weekend pattern, and pays £13.00 per hour (£25,350 FTE). Full training is provided, and no prior experience is required.

Desirable: UK driving licence, and knowledge of BSL. There is a strong focus on activities, independence, and community involvement in a welcoming team at Sense Centre Smethwick.

Qualifications

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We have exciting Support Worker opportunities at Sense Centre Smethwick, our Midlands Day Service; a warm, welcoming service where the people we support lead active, varied lives.

These are permanent roles, with contracts available for up to 37.5 hours per week on a variable shift pattern, which may include weekends, paying £13.00 per hour/£25,350 per annum FTE. Full training will be provided, so no previous experience is needed.

The people we support have active lifestyles and a wide range of interests - from arts, dance, and music making to swimming and rock climbing. You'll be supporting them to take part in the activities they love, both at the service and out in the community. A willingness to get stuck in and participate in activities is essential, as is the ability to complete manual handling tasks.

A full UK driving licence is desirable as the service uses a company vehicle for community trips and appointments. Knowledge of BSL is also an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is:
