Description du poste

Could you help someone live an active and fulfilling life?

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We have exciting Support Worker opportunities at Sense Centre Smethwick, our Midlands Day Service; a warm, welcoming service where the people we support lead active, varied lives.

These are permanent roles, working 13 hours per week on a variable shift pattern, which may include weekends, paying £13.00 per hour. Full training will be provided, so no previous experience is needed.

The people we support have active lifestyles and a wide range of interests - from arts, dance, and music making to swimming and rock climbing. You'll be supporting them to take part in the activities they love, both at the service and out in the community. A willingness to get stuck in and participate in activities is essential, as is the ability to complete manual handling tasks.

A full UK driving licence is desirable as the service uses a company vehicle for community trips and appointments. Knowledge of BSL is also an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is:
  • Positive, with a can-do attitude
  • Caring and empathetic
  • Willing to participate in a wide range of activities
  • Passionate about enhancing other people's lives
  • Willing to attend training and develop in their role
This role in Smethwick might include supporting people with:
  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Everyday tasks and independent living skills
  • Taking part in activities and special interests
  • Going out into the community for trips and appointments
  • Medication and wellbeing
Benefits
  • 24 days’ holiday + bank holidays; increasing with length of service
  • Matched pension contributions up to 5%.
  • Free life assurance
  • Cashback and discounts on high street brands (including 10% off Sense shops)
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Travel season ticket loans
  • Enhanced sick pay
  • Free DBS check (if required)
  • £350 refer-a-friend scheme
  • Access to 100+ online and face-to-face training courses (including the Care Certificate)
  • Free access to the Wisdom wellbeing app

If you’re looking for a role that’s active, meaningful, and full of heart; we’d love to welcome you to the team.
