Job summary

FitzRoy in Atherstone is recruiting a Support Worker (Complex Needs) to join a 2:1 daily/waking nights team supporting one female transitioning from a secure unit into the community. This rewarding role focuses on independence, routine, personal care and meaningful activities.

We welcome applicants who are compassionate and resilient, with experience in complex needs. A driver with access to a vehicle is essential, and full training plus 25 days annual leave and an Employee Assistance Programme

Location: Atherstone

• Day Shifts: £13.20 per hour
• Waking Nights: £13.60 per hour

Hours: Full Time

• Day Team: 9 Full Time Positions
• Waking Night Team: 4 Full Time Positions

About the Role

FitzRoy are recruiting for a new and rewarding support service in Atherstone, supporting one female who is transitioning from a secure unit into the community. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dedicated and consistent team from the very beginning.

This is a 2:1 support package for an individual with autism and diabetes, who may display complex and challenging behaviours. You will play a vital role in supporting her to settle into her new home, develop independence and live a meaningful life within the community.

We welcome applications from both male and female Support Workers who are committed, resilient and person-centred in their approach.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing 2:1 support tailored to individual needs
• Supporting with daily routines, personal care and meaningful activities
• Promoting independence, choice and dignity
• Supporting with emotional regulation and behaviours that challenge
• Monitoring and supporting diabetes management (full training provided)
• Working closely with colleagues and professionals to ensure consistency
• Completing accurate records and reporting concerns appropriately

About You

We’re looking for people who are:

• Compassionate, patient and resilient
• Confident supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge
• Comfortable working in a structured, consistent environment
• Flexible to work shifts including weekends and waking nights
• A driver with access to your own vehicle due to the service location
• Willing to undertake specialist training

Experience in autism or complex needs is beneficial, but not essential as full training will be provided.

Additional Information

• This service operates a 2:1 staffing model at all times
• Separate day and waking night teams will be in place
• Strong teamwork and consistency are essential due to the nature of support
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role due to the location
• As this is a new service, successful candidates may be required to work in our Castle Vale (Birmingham) service for initial training and may continue to be deployed there on an ongoing basis, in line with service needs
