Job description

Swindon Foyer is located in the heart of Old Town, Swindon, supporting vulnerable young people in the community to reach their goals and work towards independent living. It offers an integrated solution to housing, personal development, and training needs for young people aged 16-25.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Support Worker (Coach) to deliver person-centred, strengths-based support to our residents, helping them achieve independence.

You will manage a caseload of customers through their journey, encouraging them to articulate their aspirations and realise their potential. Responsibilities include managing referrals, conducting interviews and assessments, notifying customers of outcomes, inducting new customers, and delivering quality, outcome-focused support sessions both individually and in groups.

The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have proven experience working with young people in a similar role, with knowledge of homelessness and its impact on young people.
  • Possess working knowledge of housing and benefits advice.
  • Demonstrate experience in partnership working with agencies such as mental health teams and youth offending services.
  • Be a natural relationship builder, able to motivate, influence, and inspire others.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, adaptable to different audiences and outcomes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of professional boundaries and demonstrate high personal integrity.

Training can be provided for these skills if not already possessed.

Appointment is subject to a satisfactory DBS check, references, and valid Right to Work documentation.
