Royal Mencap Society in Chesterfield is seeking a part-time Support Worker (30 or 20 hours per week) to join a service supporting two gentlemen. Shifts cover mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays.
Full DBS checks and references are required; full training including positive behaviour support will be provided. We offer a rewarding, community-focused role with flexible patterns.
We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Service based in Chesterfield on a permanent basis, part time basis (30 or 20 hour Contract per week).
Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. The ability to work in the evening and at weekends is a requirement for this position.
We are currently support two gentleman and we have a team of up to support workers working at this Service. The people we support enjoys being out in the community and in particularvisiting the shops, going to pub and doing things in the community.
The people we support at this Service may show challenging behaviour, so experience with this would be ideal. However, previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided, including full positive behaviour support training.
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
