Job summary

Disability North in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a compassionate Support Worker/Buddy to help a happy 15-year-old with Global Developmental Delay and Autism. You will provide practical support and companionship, primarily during school holidays, to enable active participation in the local community and everyday activities.

You will work closely with the family to promote independence outside the home, build confidence, and model positive, patient care.

About the Role:

As a Support Worker/Buddy, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to work closely with a very happy and chilled 15-year-old male who has Global Developmental Delay and Autism. He lives with his loving family, including his parents, brother, and family Labrador. Your main role will be to provide support primarily during school holidays, encouraging community engagement, and fostering independence outside of the home environment.
