Job summary

Avalon Group seeks a caring and motivated Support Worker to help launch a brand-new supported living service in Harrogate. You will support people with autism and mental health needs to live fulfilling lives, building confidence and independence.

Some roles require flexibility with shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers. Training is provided, and you will be part of a forward-looking team shaping a new service from day one.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.
• Ideally experience of supporting individuals with autism and mental health needs.
• Inhouse training team will ensure you have the skills to deliver your role with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside people to achieve their goals, build confidence and develop daily living skills.
• Support people with personal care, medication, emotional wellbeing and routines that promote independence.
• Build meaningful relationships and create a warm, supportive home environment.
• Enable people to access their community, try new things and take positive steps in their lives.
• Work collaboratively with families, professionals and your team.
• Play a vital role in shaping a brand-new supported living service based on excellent practice.
