Job summary

IBC Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide one-to-one support to an adult with learning disabilities in Droylsden West. You will work within PBS and trauma-informed care to promote routine, independence and community involvement, while maintaining dignity and choice.

Key responsibilities include delivering tailored support, assisting with daily living tasks, managing medication per policy, and coordinating with family and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or behaviours of concern.
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma-informed practice.
• Strong de-escalation, communication and observational skills.
• Calm, patient, non-reactive approach under pressure.
• Driving license is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred, therapeutic support tailored to individual needs, preferences and goals.
• Promote independence and meaningful choice in daily life.
• Support with personal care while maintaining dignity and respect.
• Support medication administration in line with policy.
• Assist with daily living tasks to build skills and confidence; encourage community involvement.
