Job summary

Swanton Care & Community Ltd in Bridgend is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support to the people we support, helping them achieve goals while respecting their dignity.

You will work 40 hours per week at our Bridgend location, providing assistance, promoting well-being and facilitating activities that matter to the people supported. Training and development are available within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people with dignity.
• Adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills; able to work as part of a team.
• Driver's licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people to achieve goals and aspirations.
• Promote health, well-being and beliefs, ensuring inclusivity.
• Facilitate social, educational or work activities and community engagement.
• General housekeeping duties including shopping and personal care elements.
• Complete a range of records and documents.

The Role

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans
• Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way
• Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice
• General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care
• As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents

About The Service

Green Gables is a beautiful spacious 4-bedroom bungalow set within the pleasant residential area of Aberkenfig with an additional single service in the grounds of the home (Pen Y Nant). The home has large spacious grounds, an onsite activity / sensory room and a private garden which comprises of two patio areas, barbecuing facilities, and an outside meeting space with a gazebo and garden furniture.
