Job summary

CareTech is recruiting Support Workers to join our West Bromwich service, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. This is a permanent contract (36 hours per week) on a rota.

You will deliver person-centred support, assist with daily living skills and personal care, promote independence and wellbeing, support activities and maintain records as part of a team. We seek caring, patient and reliable people with good communication, basic IT and written abilities;

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards a Health & Social Care qualification.
• Experience in a care environment preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Drivers desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays.

Rate: £12.79 per hour

Permanent Contract | 36hours per week (rota-based)

About the Service - Coles Lane

Coles Lane is a supported living environment which provides care and support to people with learning disabilities and autism. Applicants will ideally have a background in supporting individuals with the above health needs and experience in either a supported living or residential background.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:
