Job summary

CareTech is recruiting Support Workers to join Streetly service in Cannock, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. This is a permanent contract with 36 hours per week on a rota.

You will deliver person-centred support, assist with daily living skills, promote independence, and maintain accurate records as part of a supportive team. DBS is required and enhanced checks paid for by CareTech.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards a heatlh & social qualification
• Experience in a care environment preferred but not essential
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
• Experience with using a hoist and dealing with Complex Physical Health

About the Service - Streetly

Streetly is a supported living environment which provides care and support to people with learning disabilities and complex physical health. Applicants will ideally have a background in supporting individuals with complex physical health needs and experience in the use of hoists, either within a supported living or residential background.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
