Job summary

Foundation UK is seeking a compassionate Housing Support Worker to assist adults at risk of homelessness in achieving stable accommodation and independence. Qualifications

  • Experience providing housing advice in 1-1 and group work settings.
  • Working knowledge of welfare and housing benefits.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel.

The Vacancy

We’re on the lookout for a compassionate, proactive, and motivated Housing Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Wakefield. You'll be supporting adults at risk of homelessness to find and maintain stable accommodation — playing a key role in their journey toward independent living.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage a caseload and create individual support plans and assess risk.
  • Provide regular guidance on tenancy and practical tasks as part of their journey towards independence.
  • Promote our innovative ‘Ready to Go’ tenancy program, guiding clients to understand their rights and responsibilities.

What you’ll bring:

  • A genuine passion for supporting people with housing and other needs.
  • Experience of providing housing advice in 1-1 and group work settings.
  • A working knowledge of welfare and housing benefits.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across Yorkshire and Humberside in your own vehicle.
