This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a new team supporting people with learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours that may challenge. As a Support Worker, you'll play an important role in building trusting relationships, promoting independence and helping the people we support enjoy meaningful, fulfilling lives.

J enjoys having consistent support from people who understand his needs, respect his choices and encourage him to develop his independence.

What You'll Do

As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Building relationships: Develop trusting, respectful and positive relationships with the people you support.
  • Daily living: Assist with daily routines, personal care and accessing the community.
  • Promoting independence: Encourage individual interests, introduce new activities and support personal goals.
  • Positive Behaviour Support: Work alongside colleagues and PBS leads to understand and reduce behaviours of concern.
  • Consistent support: Provide structured, reliable support to help J build his independence over time.
  • Community involvement: Support access to activities, interests and experiences that enhance quality of life.

What We're Looking For as a Support Worker-

We welcome applicants who are compassionate, dependable and able to remain calm, patient and positive in challenging situations. Previous experience as a Support Worker is desirable.

Ideally, you will:

  • Hold a full UK driving licence. J has his own vehicle, and every shift requires at least one driver.
  • Have experience in the care or support sector.
  • Have experience supporting people with learning disabilities, complex needs or behaviours that challenge.
  • Be patient, proactive and practical in your approach.
  • Communicate effectively and work well as part of a close-knit team.
  • Be consistent, reliable and committed to providing high-quality care.
  • Understand the importance of promoting dignity, choice and independence.

Please note: We may consider some applicants without a driving licence, particularly for waking-night shifts, although opportunities for non-drivers are limited.

Available Shifts and Working Patterns

We are recruiting for day and waking-night roles for a dedicated Support Worker.

  • Day shifts: 8:00am-8:00pm
  • Sleeping-night shifts: 8:00pm-8:00am, where applicable to the role
  • Waking-night shifts: 8:00pm-8:00am
  • Full-time opportunities: For applicants seeking regular hours and consistent work.

Due to the structure of the service and the importance of consistency for J, split shifts are not available.
