Would you like to be part of a new specialised service which is committed to supporting me?

Would you like to support me in the community, promoting independence and being a part of the next steps in my life?

About Me:

I am looking for support workers to support me in Sandwich at home and in my local community. I live with Autism and Learning disabilities and need support to enjoy life safely.

I enjoy spending time at home playing computer games and sometimes watching films. I love watching football; I’m a strong Arsenal fan. When in the community, I enjoy visiting shops to look at games and DVDs or to eat out. I need support workers to be consistent in their support and to maintain boundaries to keep me safe.

I will need support workers to support me all day in my home and in the community, helping me develop community awareness, independent living skills, stay safe, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and manage anxiety and challenges specific to me.

Shift Patterns:

This is a 24-hour service; therefore, flexibility is essential. You will work a range of shifts, including nights and some weekends. There is always the option to discuss flexible shifts such as nights only, weekends only, and part-time hours.

Role Responsibilities:

  • I need my support workers to be patient, understanding, and confident in their approach.
  • Support workers need to be mindful of their language when communicating with me; honesty, boundaries, and consistency are essential.
  • Support me in challenging situations with a non-judgmental approach.
  • You will work alongside specialists in multidisciplinary teams, including Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and others.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced in supporting people with an Autism diagnosis.
  • Resilient, patient, and understanding; developing a strong bond may take time.
  • Consistent in support approach.
  • Able to use language effectively to broaden my opportunities.

You should have:

  • The right attitude!
  • The ability to work well as part of a team, independently, and with other professionals involved in my support.
  • A non-judgmental approach.

This is a specialist supported living service in Sandwich with high expectations for staff. All necessary training will be provided locally prior to supporting me.

As a leading health and social care provider with over 300 locations across England, we pride ourselves on our services.

We operate on a not-for-profit basis; reinvesting all earnings into our services and people. We are committed to continuous improvement to enhance the lives of those we support.
