Dimensions (UK) Ltd. in Stevenage is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a gentleman living independently in his own home. You’ll help with daily tasks and encourage participation in community activities.
No prior experience is required; full training is provided. You’ll support with meals, medications, and personal care when needed, helping him stay independent and achieve his personal goals.
We are looking for a Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a gentleman in his mid-30s who lives independently in his own home in Stevenage.
He has a fantastic sense of humour, enjoys social interaction and loves a good conversation. If you're someone who enjoys chatting and building positive relationships, you'll be a great match. He has a keen interest in music, popular culture, television soaps, films and YouTube. Ariana Grande and Rihanna are particular favourites, and he also enjoys spending time on his iPad, playing on his Wii and watching films.
The gentleman you will be supporting enjoys getting out into his local town and regularly likes visiting the cinema, going out for meals, bowling, swimming and going for walks. You'll be encouraging and supporting him to take part in the interests he enjoys, try new experiences, maintain his independence and achieve his personal goals.
Your role will involve supporting with day-to-day living tasks, including meal preparation, medication administration (including creams and inhalers), and providing prompts with personal care when required. Most importantly, you'll provide person-centred support that focuses on his strengths, promotes choice and independence, and enables him to live a full and valued life.
This is a lone-working role with shifts typically running from 7.30am to 10.30pm with a sleep-in, working every other weekend.
