A leading company is seeking a compassionate individual to support a young adult with epilepsy in Southampton. The role involves providing care, supporting daily activities, and ensuring safety during community outings. Candidates should have experience in epilepsy care, strong communication skills, and a full driving license for day shifts. This position offers ongoing training and benefits, including holiday entitlement and pension.
£15.10 per hour on weekdays during days, and £16.10 per hour on weekends during days, with additional rates for nights and bank holidays.
About The Role

Location: Holbury, Southampton
Days & Hours: 10-hour day shifts on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm; waking nights on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am; 2-4 evenings per week from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. These hours are to be covered by more than one person. Bank hours are also available.
Pay: £15.10 per hour on weekdays (8:00 am - 10:30 pm) and £16.10 per hour on weekends (8:00 am - 10:30 pm), with additional rates for waking nights (10:30 pm - 8:00 am) and bank holidays.
Driver required? Essential
Driving Client's Car? Yes, for day roles, using a wheelchair accessible vehicle (Ford Transit Tourneo, rear access via a ramp), automatic transmission.
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, on duty, due to remote location and training requirements.
Essential: Supporting young adults with epilepsy.
Desirable: Experience working with adults with learning difficulties and an interest in providing therapies.

Terence, born in 2000, lives with his family. He is friendly, humorous, and enjoys interacting with people and playing with his toys. He prefers a calm environment and needs support with all aspects of daily living due to his medical needs, including epilepsy and mobility challenges. He uses a wheelchair and requires 2:1 support for walking and transfers.
The role involves providing safe, effective care within the family environment, supporting his activities, and following therapy programs. It includes community outings, domestic duties, and supporting his independence.
Night shifts involve monitoring Terence, recording sleep patterns, and providing personal care, medication, and domestic support as needed.
This position offers ongoing training, support, and benefits such as holiday entitlement, pension, and DBS check. The role requires a compassionate, proactive individual with experience in epilepsy care, good communication skills, and a full driving license for day shifts.
