Job summary

Voyage Care in Shipdham is seeking caring, hands-on female Support Workers to help people gain independence in daily life. You’ll work within a dynamic team delivering person-centred support and accompany individuals on activities both in the local community and at home.

The role includes night and day shifts on a 28 or 35 hour schedule, and a full UK driving licence is required. You will assist with personal care for complex needs and promote social engagement and life skills.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience with supporting individuals with complex needs advantageous.
• Female applicants only may be required for certain roles in accordance with policy.

Responsibilities

• Help people gain more independence in daily life and work within a team to support a group of individuals.
• Assist with personal care for complex needs and encourage access to local communities and activities.
• Teach life skills, supervise social activities in bars, pubs, cinema, or at home.
• Support planning and participation in daily routines to promote confidence and independence.

Support Worker – Shipdham - £13.05 ph

28 hour or 35 hour post to cover over a mix of days and nights

MANUAL DRIVING LICENSE IS REQUIRED AS PART OF THIS ROLE

Typical Shifts are Nights: Monday - Sunday 9.30pm- 7.30am and for day staff 7:30-2:30 2:30-9:30

As a support worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!

Our supported living service in Shipdham is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care for complex needs, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should hold a full UK driving license, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma.
