Job summary

Voyage Care’s Fareham residential service is looking for a caring Support Worker who helps people gain more independence in daily life, within a friendly team.

You’ll assist with personal care, support community access, and take part in activities from outings to cinema, to promote wellbeing and confidence. A full UK driving licence is preferred, and training plus progression opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be caring and able to support people to gain independence.
• Experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice is desirable.
• Ability to work in a dynamic team and handle challenging situations.

Job description

Support Worker – Fareham - £14.84ph 35 -42 hours per week

Typical Shifts are: Monday - Sunday working 07:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 21:00 or long days if preferred

As a support worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!

Our residential service in Fareham is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going to the cinema.

This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.

We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should hold a full UK driving licence, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including VERY challenging behaviour, behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma.
