Job summary

Voyage Care’s Barnford House seeks a compassionate Support Worker to help residents gain independence in daily living. You’ll work within a dynamic team, support personal care, and enable community participation, from days out to in-house activities.

Ideal candidates have a full UK driving license, experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans, and resilience handling distressed behaviours while promoting dignity and choice for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be genuinely caring and Hands-on approach.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans.
• Experience with individuals requiring enhanced support, including distress or mental health concerns.

Responsibilities

• Help people gain independence in daily life and routines.
• Assist with personal care and encourage community access.
• Support activities like social outings, cinema or games with residents.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver person-centred care.

Shifts between: Monday - Sunday 07:45 - 15:15 / 14:30 - 22:00

As a support worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!

Our residential service in Oldbury is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going to the cinema.

This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.

We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should hold a full UK driving license, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress and mental health conditions.
