Job summary

CareTech Community Services Ltd is hiring a Support Worker in Keighley to provide person-centred support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. The role is rota-based and involves days and nights with a salary of £12.79 per hour.

The service, Oakworth House, offers a structured, supportive environment focused on independence and wellbeing, with DBS clearance paid for by CareTech and opportunities for career progression within a reputable care group.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Experience of supporting adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs.
• Drivers are preferred but no essential.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).
• Good communication and written skills.
• Ability to keep calm under pressure.
• Confidence to work alone and also be part of a team (family).

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access; maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

Location: Keighley
Rate: £12.79 per hour
Permanent Contract | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based) | Days and Nights available

About the Service – Oakworth House

Oakworth House is a registered residential care service, supporting adults aged 18+ in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing through tailored, person-centred support.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
