Job summary

Priory Group is hiring a Support Worker for The Lighthouse, a 5-bed specialist residential home for young people aged 13–18 with complex mental health needs. NVQ2 in Health & Social Care required; you will support personal care, daily living activities, and educational needs while following individual care plans.

You will join a compassionate team, engage residents in activities, and help create a therapeutic, homely environment. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent or higher recognised qualification.
• GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths.

Responsibilities

The Lighthouse has an opportunity for a Support worker with a NVQ2 in Health & Social Care to join our team.

The Lighthouse is a 5 bed specialist residential home for young people aged 13–18 with complex mental health needs and associated risk taking behaviours. We are situated within walking distance from Stroud town centre allowing access from all major bus and train routes into the town. Our aim here at The Lighthouse is to ensure that the young people we invest in have the best residential experience in a therapeutic and homely environment. Care here is individually tailored to meet their needs and ensure the best outcome by investing in our young people’s future. You will be responsible for the supervision of our young people who display a range of behaviours relating to their mental health following their previous trauma. Participating in activities and engaging our young people around the home and within their daily routine as well as ensuring their educational needs are met.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

• Ensure that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks. To support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
• Complete daily administration including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
• Maintains professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.

What you'll bring to the role

Experience

• NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or related area or equivalent or higher recognised qualification. GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths.
• Positive and pro-active approach. Experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate Big heart and passion to make a difference to children and young people Patience, enthusiasm and resilience Full driving licence preferred but not essential
