Acapella Recruitment Ltd in Porthcawl is seeking a compassionate Support Worker for a residential care setting supporting a young man with visual impairment and severe learning difficulties. No formal qualifications are required; training will be provided to help you become an excellent support worker.
You will join a small, dedicated family team with a 2:1 support ratio, helping with personal care as needed and enabling participation in activities such as cooking, cycling, swimming, and outings.

Salary: £14.06 per hour

Hours: 22 hours per week / 33 hours per week
The family and care team of a young man, with visual impairment and severe learning difficulties, who can at times present challenging behaviour, are looking for a compassionate and conscientious individual to join the team. A unique residential care service, dedicated and tailored to this individual in the family home, they provide a range of care and support services for him. Their main priority for this job role is to find people with the right values, behaviours and attitudes that match his needs.

Their client has a very organised timetable of activities and a very structured routine. However, this does not mean that two days are the same. Duties may include some basic support with personal care needs, as well as helping the individual to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support his health and wellbeing such as cooking, cycling, swimming, eating out, horse riding etc.
Their client has his own vehicle, which is automatic; staff are expected to drive the vehicle to enable their client to access a full range of activities.
Their client is 2:1 support.
